Falling For You: Boyz II Men

While the girls and I got ready, Mr. Waterfall was getting ready with the guys a few floors below us.

Getting ready at the same hotel was one of the best logistical decisions we made, as it allowed people, like our parents and our photographers, to easily travel back and forth between both rooms, allowing us to document everything. We were also really happy with our rented Black by Vera Wang tuxes from Moores. The reason we chose the VW line was the slim cut, and it really made a huge difference in the way the tuxes fit our guys. We also chose the cummerbund/bow tie combo because we were going for a timeless, formal look. I mean, how Mad Men is this photo?

The next few pictures are pretty self explanatory, so I'll keep my commentary to a minimum.
Now, obviously I have no knowledge of what actually went down in the room, aside from the pictures and video, so imagine my confusion when I first saw the following two pictures. I have no idea my Mr. W is handing money to GM of Doom, or is it the other way around? Even more strange is the fact that it's an American bill! I asked Mr. W, and he actually didn't remember this happening at all, so I guess it will remain a big mystery!
Apparently, there was also an impromptu pillow fight between them. Because sometimes you gots to smack somebody real hard with a pillow... You just gots to! Tuxes be dammed.
GM of Doom also tweeted this picture of three seashells in the hotel bathroom. He's a funny dude, that one.
After everyone was done horsing around primping, it was time to put on the boutonnieres. The only problem was that nobody actually knew how to pin a bout... smartphones to the rescue!
Our florist had suggested doing a peony bud for Mr. W's bout (to match my bouquet), and spray roses for everyone else's. I'll admit that at first, I thought a peony bud might look too big, but as it turns out, it was just right, and it was actually much sturdier than the spray roses and lasted all day!
A funny anecdote about the bouts -- they had come wrapped in some kind of protective wire, and the guys weren't sure if they were supposed to remove it, or if the boutonnieres were meant to look like that. Since nobody wanted to upset me, they pretty much decided to err on the side of caution and leave them the way there were, until Papi Waterfall declared that it was a stupid plan, and clipped the wires, to everyone else's horror. BM Tequila then started laughing and exclaimed "Of course he can cut the wire, he's the only man here who doesn't need to be afraid of the bride!". Yup. True story.

The next few pictures are really special. MIL Waterfall had inherited this pair of engraved, gold cufflinks from her father, Mr. Waterfall's grandfather, who had passed away a few months before the wedding. While she wasn't ready to give them up just yet, she lent them to Mr. Waterfall on our wedding day and said that it would mean a lot if he would wear them. It was really emotional for both of them, and a great way for Mr. Waterfall to carry his grandfather with him on our wedding day.
After a quick shot of liquid courage, it was finally time for the guys to leave for the church!

Where did your groom and groomsmen get ready? Did they know how to pin the boutonnieres?

Miss a recap?
